About Me

Bio

My name is Allison Branch, and I am originally from Portland, OR. I am a student with a passion for research, particularly within the field of Industrial-Organizational psychology. My excitement surrounding research led me to become a research assistant in Dr. Daniel Forster's Experimental and Quantitative Interpersonal Psychology (EQuIP) lab where I studied gratitude, facial expressions, and interpersonal connection. During my time in the EQuIP lab, I completed an independent project exploring the topic of how facial expressions influence perceived trustworthiness.

After completing that project, I used my newfound research skills to conduct an independent study focusing on one of my greatest fascinations: the intersections between psychology and the business realm. My motivation to understand how workplace culture and implementations influence human behavior caused me to complete an honors thesis investigating how ignoring an individual's preference can impact productivity, engagement, and feelings of control.

All of these experiences within research instilled in me a dedication to academia and prepared me for my future endeavors. I want to help others through their journey to graduate school since it can be full of obstacles as well as unknowns. Feel free to contact me for inquiries regarding graduate school, research ideas, and more!
